This section is a directory of animal-friendly products for vegans in South Africa. It helps you choose personal and household care brands that are animal-friendly and explains where you can buy them. We also have some useful tips for persuading your local store to begin stocking these products.

Body Shop
Women's fragrances at the The Body Shop include eau de toilette, perfume oils and body mists in the ever-popular Japanese Cherry Blossom, Moroccan Rose and many other scents. Men too have a choice of eau de toilette such as Activist, Arber and Kistna.
Note: all Body Shop products are vegan except those containing honey and beeswax (listed on the product packaging as 'cera alba' and 'mel').

L'OCCITANE
From Haute-Provence in France, L'OCCITANE have a large range of fragrances, with Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and Eau de la Recolte Bleue. L'OCCITANE strives to use only natural ingredients and has never tested its products on animals.
Check the package ingredients for beeswax, royal jelly (10-hydroxy-trans-2-decanoin acid), propolis and honey, since some of their products do contain bee products.

All ladies and men's Woolworths fragrances are suitable for vegans. There are a wide range of choices, from floral bouquets to citrus essences, rich spices, warm amber and wood. Eau de toilette and eau de parfum are available in full 100 ml bottles and 25 ml mini size.
