Egg Replacer (for Leavening)

Use common kitchen staple ingredients as egg substitutes in your favourite recipes. Review the options below to replace eggs when they are used for leavening, i.e. to make the food light and fluffy.


  • 1 tsp baking powder and 1 Tbsp white vinegar; or
  • 2 tsp baking soda and 2 Tbsp water; or
  • 2 Tbsp potato starch and 2 Tbsp water.

Cooking Instructions

Each option above is a stand-alone alternative (you don't need to make them all together) and makes the equivalent of 1 egg.
