Paw-Paw & Banana Smoothie
A smoothie is a blended, chilled, sometimes sweetened beverage made from fresh fruit (fruit smoothie) or vegetables and in special cases can contain (soya) milk, chocolate or carob.
Paw-Paw is high in protein, vitamins A and C, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and iron. Bananas are rich in dietary fibre, vitamin C, B6, potassium and manganese.
Ingredients
½ peeled, seeded and chopped ripe papaya 2 peeled and sliced bananas 1 cup soya milk ¼ cup soya yogurt 1 tsp vanilla extract ½ tsp spirulina powder (optional) ¼ cup walnuts 1 tsp maple syrup 1 cup ice cubes
Cooking Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender, except for the walnuts, and blend until smooth.
- Add the walnuts and process until it resembles a chunky state.
- Pour into a large glass and garnish with lime.
