Pita Bread Pizza
Pita bread is a round leavened flatbread that is consumed all over the world in many different cultures. It is generally made with wheat but can also be made in multigrain and whole wheat varieties. Pita bread is consumed in Turkey, Romania and Greece, to name just a few places. In fact, the word is a Greek term, which means flat.
2 pita breads
1 Tbsp olive oil
6 Tbsps marinara sauce
½ cup shredded vegan mozzarella cheese
14 vegan pepperoni slices
2 Tbsp sliced black olives
1 Roman tomato
2 tsp Italian seasoning
Vegetables of your choice (optional)
- Brush the pita with the olive oil and spread on the marinara sauce. Sprinkle the vegan cheese on top, and then cover with the vegan pepperoni, olives, tomato, and any other vegetables.
- Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning.
- Bake in a toaster oven at 180°C for about 6 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
